What would the last prayer of your life be?

That's right, what would be the last prayer of your life? Maybe your last breath will not be softly in your sleep, quick in a bad auto accident, or unconscious in a hospital bed. Maybe your life will end with you to have enough time to savor the last moment of life.

Would you pray?

Maybe your ignorant and do not know "what religion is the right religion". You just like falling forward through life till you finally hit the floor of life's end. I was that way till my mid twenties.

In psychology I learned that MRI studies show that the human brain does not reach full maturity until a person reaches their mid-twenties. The last area of the brain is the prefontal corex. This is significant because the prefontal cortex plays a critical role in many advanced or "executive" cognitive functions, such as a person's ability to reason, plan ahead, organized, solve problems, and decide.

Here's what we know. The Universe is here and it had a beginning. The Universe is made up of time, space and matter. It came from something. The Big Bang was started somehow. No one knows how. Steven Hawking is banging his head trying to figure out how. He's got some ideas, but he does not know how.

Our minds cannot fully comprehend an existence without time, space or matter. That's because it is a spiritual existence - being independent of time, space, and matter. An eternal state of quality not quantity. We are like two dimensional drawings trying to understand a three dimensional world.

Most people will refuse to consider the depths of that reality. It is an ocean they refuse to swim in. How do you measure the immaterial? The spiritually immature mock what they do not understand.

The Hebrews(Jewish, Muslims) and Christians all agree that there is one almighty god, The Almighty God who created the Universe. It came from somewhere and no other religions claim to have a reason where it came from. The Jews and the Arabs are all Hebrew cousins. Abraham had two sons, the first one illegitimately and the second to his wife.

The Muslims incorporated an old pagan moon god, Allah into their spiritual beliefs and started Islam. Allah had three daughters: el-Lat, el-Uzza, and Manat. Each daughter had a separate shrine near Mecca, where Allah's shrine was located. Allah is not The Almighty God.

The Jews either don't believe The Messiah has come yet or is an period of time instead of a person. In Hebrew they call the title, the Messiah. In Greek they call the title, the Christ. In English the title is, the Anointed One.

Christians are the red-headed spiritual stepchildren of the Hebrew Jews and Muslims. The Anointed One that was prophesied did come. The Creator of the Universe introduced himself in our measurable realm of time, space and matter as Jesus - son of Joseph and Mary.

That deserves a WOW!

The eternal being reaches into his creation as a person to show us how to live! Jesus is God's hand pointing to the exit sign of mortal life! How cool is that?!

Just as the genetic pool has become corrupted after all these years so have the roots of understanding of what God's plan is for all of us. Do not let the antichrist spirit mislead you like it has the unbelieving Jews and Muslims. Their ancestors at one point had the Truth and over time became deceived. The rest of the world was the field to hear the seed of the Truth of The Almighty God. The spirit of the antichrist has deceived most of it. Many refuse to even consider Jesus (see Hebrews 3:1). Why not at least consider what he says as truth? You must at this point in our discussion. The Creator made you for a reason. Jesus holds the answers to the plan. What is the plan?

The plan is simple. God created man with a free-will. You are free to accept God or not. This is the only way God can see if you truly love him back. You don't truly know if something loves you or not unless you give it the freedom to not choose to accept you. God just wants to know: do you love me or not? Will you listen to what he says to do?

Forty authors inspired by The Almighty God over the span of 1500 years wrote 66 books setting the scene and painting the picture of Christ Jesus and what he did on the Earth.

Jesus came and lived a perfect life. Perfect by his own standards. Oddly enough no other person on the entire Earth has been able to live up to those standards. Not you or I or anyone else can say that we haven't broken at least a few of the Ten Commandments. He did.

That deserves another WOW!

Perfect. Never lied. Never stole. Never hated another person. Never looked at another person with lust. He lived a perfect life. The Ten Commandments were here so that Jesus could qualify and testify to who he was. Man cannot do it alone. It is only with the help of God that man can conquer the Law. Jesus did it because he was fully man and fully God.

What do we do about that? We can't live perfect lives. I've lied and stolen things. I've looked at women with lust and hated other people. That is a daily battle! Not to mention not using God's name as a swear word, or making things more important that God or not keeping just one day a week devoted to him.

We've broken God's Law's, so how can we avoid the sentencing on judgment day when Jesus comes back? Here is the beauty of God's plan. Because Jesus came and lived the perfect life, he showed us that he had credit to go to heaven. Only he could have done that. With this credit he decided to sacrifice his life for everyone else that has ever lived. He paid for the sin of everyone, even those who did not and do not accept him. If someone buys you something you can accept it or refuse it. Why refuse it?

Accept the gift of eternal life with The God Almighty. Get to know Christ Jesus by reading the Bible regularly. Let him work in you through the help of the Holy Spirit. The Ten Commandments are now a way for you to learn how to stay close with God. Life will have it's ups and downs. You will still fail at keeping God's Law's, but now it forces you to seek God and remain in constant communication with him through prayer.

Right then, that is when he has won your heart. A relationship with The Almighty God, The Creator, The Savior, The Lord.

What would you pray?

So there you are moments from your last breath. Are you afraid to die? Do you believe Jesus is who he said he was? If so, there is nothing to be afraid of. In the next moments you would be stepping into eternity with The God Almighty.

No one can ever take that from you. Ever.

Fides Omnia Vincit. Faith Conquers All.

John 1:1

http://ttb.johna.ca/securettb/43_John/4 ... 001_01.mp3

In the beginning Jesus was already there.

"...before creation, before the world was made, when as yet there was nothing. The meaning is: that the “Word” had an existence before the world was created. This is not spoken of the man Jesus, but of that which “became” a man, or was incarnate, Joh_1:14. The Hebrews, by expressions like this, commonly denoted eternity. Thus. the eternity of God is described" -Barnes

If anyone ever tells you that Jesus is not God and never claimed to be, then remind them of John 1:1. His divinity is quite explicit in this first verse of the Book of John.

A Self-disciplined Bible Study

Too many times we as followers of Jesus Christ do not spend enough time filling our hearts and minds with the knowledge that He has left us to get to know Him better. There are no excuses.

I am going to start using this Blog to track my studies using the tools that I feel are outstanding and FREE.

Dr. J. Vernon McGee created a 5 year program to go Thru The Bible. If you can handle his southern accent the mp3 files are available for free at www.thruthebible.ca. I recommend going to the individual track secion (http://www.thruthebible.ca/securettb/index.htm) and work your way through one book at a time. The other tool that I recommend is e-Sword (www.e-sword.net) which is a free Bible program that comes complete with atlases, commentaries, dictionaries and translations that can be viewed side-by-side.

So here is my plan. I'm going to start in the book of John. I'm going to listen to a few files. On average I think each mp3 file is about 5-10 minutes long. After I listen to the file(s) I will read those verses in the book I am studying and then read the commentaries. Along the way I'll make sure to look at the maps and look-up any words that I do not understand.

After that I'll write a summary in the blog.

What is the One True Church?

Welcome to my first blog. Blah!

It truly grieves me when I go into a Christian chat room or bulletin board and find a theological slapping match going on. The ugliness of ego and pride shines through the "Christian curtain".

The One True Church is not one of the myriad of denominations or the Catholic church (capital "C"). The One True Church isn't limited by a name, but an action - to give your life to Jesus the Christ, Lord and Savior. The catholic (lower-case "c") or "universal" church is that body of believers independent of their branch of Christianity.

I think we would all be shocked to know how many people we see every Sunday aren't among God's children - those that haven't given their lives to Him. Don't just go through the motions of a Christian. Get to know Him that you profess to follow!

Two articles that I used to research this are:

What is the One True Church?

One True Catholic Church
