I want to keep it real
for you, just the black and white of the issue - when it comes right
down to it...
It's just between you
and the Almighty God.
That spark of life that
makes you you and that corpse tick is the only part of you that can talk to
God. You've talked to Him and everyone has. You can't help it. It's part of
you. It is the
Holies of Holies of our tabernacle we call bodies.
Think long and hard about this truth, the first truth and the last, the
sovereign and supreme reality - that the architect and master builder of the
universe is your creator. You will eventually pass away, so be sure of your
eternal decision to accept God's offer or not. Free will is a beautiful gift
and you and only you can make the deepest and most solemn affirmation that
human lips can make. Be sure.

There are ONLY four possibilities as to how
the universe (time, space and matter) came to be.
This is not a logical fallacy of
false dilemma. Every other possibility falls under one of these four
possibilities.

It
is a figment of everyone's collective imagination. You
and I and the rest of the world are imagining all of
this. Those people are technically called solipsists.
If you honestly believe this, how about walking
across a busy highway without looking?
True solipsists have much shorter life spans.

It came from nothing.
Nothing - you and I can't even fathom true
"nothingness". No time, no space, no matter. You think
of nothing as an empty space, but that's not nothing.
Empty space is something. How can something come from
nothing? If there were nothing, something couldn't exist
to create itself.
The first law of thermodynamics, which states that the
energy going into a heat engine must equal the useful
work coming out plus the change in internal heat energy,
is equivalent to the law of conservation of energy. It
is not possible to get something from nothing. No engine
can do more useful work than the amount of energy input.
Here's a joke for you:
One day a group of
scientists got together and decided that man
had come a long way and no longer needed
God. So they picked one scientist to go and
tell Him that they were done with Him.
The scientist walked up to God and said,
"God, we've decided that we no longer need
you. We're to the point that we can clone
people and do many miraculous things, so why
don't you just go on and get lost."
God listened very patiently and kindly to
the man and after the scientist was done
talking, God said, "Very well, how about
this, let's say we have a man making
contest." To which the scientist replied,
"OK, great!"
But God added, "Now, we're going to do this
just like I did back in the old days with
Adam."
The scientist said, "Sure, no problem" and
bent down and grabbed himself a handful of
dirt.
God just looked at him and said, "No, no,
no. You go get your own dirt!" |
| [Insert "God
sprinkles jerks" cartoon here of
The Far Side by Gary Larson.
It's a picture of God in the
kitchen with the Earth in a
skillet. There is a shelf of
ingredients in different sized
boxes and jars behind him with
labels such as: birds, insects,
krill, med. skinned people,
light skinned people, dark
skinned people, plants,
reptiles, and amphibians. On the
table is a box labeled trees, a
measuring cup, and spoon. There
is a thought bubble, "And just
to make it interesting..." as
God with his chefs hat is
sprinkling a red jar labeled
"jerks" onto the Earth. The
cartoon is really funny but Gary
Larson has made it explicitly
clear that he does not want his
cartoons reproduced.] |

It
always existed. Science has proven that space and matter
has indeed originated from an absolute position and
that the amount of useful work the universe can do is
decreasing. Energy is not being lost, it's just being so
dispersed that eventually there will be no more useful
work. If the universe always existed, we would have
already reached the point of no more useful work. You
can stick your multiverse theory in here too.
The
Second Law of Thermodynamics states that we would have
already reached maximum entropy. Entropy is a measure of
the disorder or randomness of a system. The total
entropy of the universe can never decrease. The universe
is becoming more disordered. To say the universe always
existed and does not increase entropy is self refuting.

It was created. An intelligent designer - all knowing,
all powerful and everywhere present being - independent
of time, space and matter - created, not made,
everything that we know and more. If you could figure
Him out, He wouldn't be and Almighty God, would He?
He has left us a guidebook and though I'm now convinced of the reliability of
all Scripture, I'm not one who blindly accepts everything I read. God did not leave His existence without clear and
convincing evidence that can be found inside and outside the Bible.
No where does the Bible suggest that God intends for believers
to blindly, mindlessly follow without ever questioning. The undeniable
proof of His existence and the evidence of His love and power is
evident at the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
It is this single event that is the center of human history and the
pivotal moment in the Bible. Once I became one hundred
percent convinced that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead, all
other challenges to faith are minor and inconsequential. The only
conclusions that can be reached about Jesus Christ
is that He was a legend, a liar, a lunatic, or the Lord. Which conclusion have you reached?
If you don't yet trust the Holy Bible as a reliable witness, then
please read the evidence that comes from historical extra-biblical
sources. The evidence is overwhelming, for those willing to take
time to study it. If
it's true that Jesus Christ died for our sins, then was resurrected from the dead (as I declare),
then our acceptance or
rejection of Him
will have eternal consequences for us all.
